Everest Women’s Volleyball League Creates Over 100 Job Opportunities for Women

Kathmandu — Vatsalya Everest Women’s Volleyball League Sets New Standard for Women’s Empowerment in Sports

In a historic move toward empowering women in sports, the Vatsalya Everest Women’s Volleyball League has, for the second time, emerged as a model both within Nepal and internationally — creating employment opportunities for over 100 women across various domains.

In its inaugural season, the league provided jobs to 72 female players, 15 women in management roles, 10 in media, and 5 in technical fields. With the second edition set for 2025, these numbers are expected to grow significantly.

The league has also made headlines by appointing Snevi Chapagain, Nepal’s youngest and first female league CEO in sports, reinforcing a powerful message about women’s leadership in the industry.

Another milestone was achieved with Subiksha Khadka being recognized as Nepal’s first-ever female auctioneer, who led the country’s first women’s volleyball auction on July 18 — a landmark moment in Nepal’s sports history.

These achievements highlight the league’s deep commitment to inclusive development and gender equality by integrating women into traditionally male-dominated areas of sports management.

Challenging conventional structures, the league is actively placing women in leadership and technical roles, living up to its slogan #AbaPaaloMahilaKo (Now, it’s Women’s Turn) in a meaningful way.

At a time when female representation in sports leadership is low globally, this league is setting a new benchmark — not only providing opportunities for athletes, but also opening doors for women in sports administration, broadcasting, digital media, logistics, and team operations. This is creating a safer and economically empowering environment for women.

Transforming Nepal’s sports landscape, the Vatsalya Everest Women’s Volleyball League is rapidly gaining attention as a pioneering model of women-friendly sports innovation. By amplifying women’s voices and visibility across the sector, the league is positioning itself as a global example.

As its reach and impact continue to grow, the league is expected to open new doors for young women across Nepal and South Asia — laying the foundation for a more equal and inclusive future in sports.
